Dimanche 7 février 2010, les finales de l’étape ** Freeride World Qualifier de Flaine voit un peu moins d’une cinquantaine de riders sur une face bien garnie en neige et obstacles. Les condition était idéales jusqu’à ce que le jour blanc s’installe, aux environs du 20ème passage. TV report avec “Le Frigo” lundi 22 février sur Rouge TV et Skieur.com.
Sunday the 7th of February, around 50 riders are gathering for the ** Freeride World Qualifier event at Flaine (France). The spot is full of fresh snow and nice obstacles. Weather conditions are good until the visibility lowers after the 20th ride. TV report with “Le Frigo” show Monday 22 of February on Rouge TV and Skieur.com.
Arnaud Cottet et Philippe Büschi., membre Dband et fervents frigoistes participent aux finales avec en tête, un programme radical. Arnaud démarre fort et prend l’option offensive, double-barre puis recherche d’un tricot sur le bas du parcours, sans succès. Phil part dernier, une boucle à la chaussure en moins et un plan en tête: prendre une ligne que personne n’est aller chercher. Et pour cause, elle n’était pas jouable donc improvisation!
Arnaud Cottet and Philippe Büschi, Dband riders and so called « frigoistes », are riding the finals with one thing in mind, an aggressive run. Arnaud starts well with a double cliff, he’s looking then for a second obstacle to put a trick on, without success. Phil is the last rider on top, waiting quite a lot for his start with one lock missing on a boot. He’s looking for a run nobody has been for. Unfortunately, his plan seems tricky and he finally goes for a “improvised” run.
Arnaud 13, Philippe 18. Le top 3 regroupe Mickaël Bimboes, Bertrand Clair et Joonas Karhumaa, le finlandais, qui raccroche les talons pour le tour (comme Renaud d’ailleurs).
